Moregate Exports began operations in 1975. Since then it has developed into the only major serum producer which has significant operations in both Australia and New Zealand. During the course of this development, we have won a reputation for absolute commitment to quality and customer service.
Our markets are in Asia, Europe, Great Britain, and the United States of America.We supply animal sera and a range of animal by-products to our customers for pharmaceutical, industrial and research use.
Base products are sourced from large and efficient slaughterhouses, utilising the most aseptic collection methods according to EEC and USDA standards.
Combined production of all sera and plasma exceeds one million litres per year. Foetal Calf Serum production alone exceeds 30,000 litres each year. A large variety of animal by-products are also sourced and packed to customer specifications, and then shipped.
Raw and Sterile Foetal Bovine Serum is processed in state of the art facilities located at Moregate Exports' premises in Australia and New Zealand. These plants are designed and operated to the highest GMP standards and are fully registered.
Bovine Plasma, Adult Bovine Serum and New Born Calf Serum are produced at dedicated facilities within major slaughterhouses, controlled by Moregate Exports. Bovine Serum Albumin is manufactured by further processing Bovine Plasma.

Australia and New Zealand, being island countries with the strictest quarantine systems, have remained relatively disease free. Both are efficient agricultural producers with small manufacturing bases, and neither suffers from the industrial pollution and environmental contamination to the extent of most industrialised countries. This has left the natural food supply less polluted.
Combining the above with efficient and natural farming methods, such as range feeding and open grazing, means Australian and New Zealand sourced sera and other animal by-products are of the highest quality in the world.
The outbreak of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy - BSE - in the UK in the mid 1980s, highlights the need for and benefits of using quality disease-free products sourced from countries such as Australia and New Zealand.

All sera products are available sterile filtered to 0.2 or 0.1 micron, accompanied by standard test data.
