Notes
Ken enlisted with the 1st. AIF and served in France from 1915 to 1918. After his marriage to Flora Skeen he lived the rest of his life in Sale, where he was a carrier of high repute, using a horse-drawn wagon until the introduction of motor trucks. He was the first carrier in Sale to operate with a motor truck.
Ken served with the Australian Army during the Second World War, as a transport driver in Victoria.
After the death of his wife, Flora, he married Ivy Skeen, Flora's sister-in-law. Ken enjoyed singing, particularly in church choirs, where his bass voice was greatly appreciated. The Uniting Church Gregg Memorial Hall in Sale honours his name.
At the age of seventy years, Ken passed away at the Gippsland Base Hospital, Sale, on 27th. July, 1967.
